Benefits
Prospect Fellowships are of 18 months duration and are non-renewable. The fellowships pay a salary at Level A, step 8 of the academic salary scale of the employing university (approximately $95,000 per annum plus superannuation at a rate in accordance with the employing univeristy’s enterprise agreement). Successful candidates will be expected to commence their fellowship within 6 months of award, and will be expected to be resident in Western Australia for the duration of the Fellowship.

Eligibility
The second round of Prospect Fellowship will open on 1 February 2021 and close on 14 March 2021. To be eligible to apply for a Prospect Fellowship an applicant must:
- have successfully completed all the requirements for the award of their PhD on or after 1 August 2019;
- be a citizen of Australia or New Zealand, or a permanent resident of Australia;
- be able to demonstrate outstanding academic performance and achievement, with evidence that they are among the top 5% of recent PhD graduates in their field;
- be proposing to undertake research in one of the six designated areas of Western Australian research excellence and relevance.

Selection
Applications will be assessed by the Forrest Research Foundation Selection Committee on the basis of each applicants’:
- outstanding academic achievements;
- quality and relevance of research proposal;
- track record of host research group;
- potential to make a positive difference to Western Australia through research
The Selection Committee will interview shortlisted candidates. The Committee will make use of expert external evaluation and internal evaluation from each WA university to inform its decisions.

- Statement from host research group/unit specifying extent of international research reputation, experience of research translation, and track record in supporting career progression of early career researchers
- Contact details of four referees (one personal (optional) and three academic)
- Photograph
- Evidence of citizenship or permanent residence status
