Studying BIOCERAMIC SCAFFOLDS FOR BONE REGENERATION Affiliated UWA Appointed 2023
“I am grateful to the Forrest Research Foundation for creating a healthy atmosphere for scholars to thrive and change the world by prioritizing more affordable biomedical research on bone scaffolds.”
Titanium implants have been thought to be safe with a high success rate for patients. However, in some cases, there have been reports of complications due to hypersensitivity as these implants are subject to corrosion and wear. Mingxins study aims to develop strong, non-toxic ceramic implants that facilitate bone growth.
“Just imagine a broken leg. A doctor fixes it without the uncomfortable fixtures. You go on with your normal life before you even fully recover. One could wonder how this seamless technology made bone grow like a spineless sea slug.”
