Dr Liam Scarlett
Australia
Studying Physics Affiliated Curtin University Appointed 2017
Liam undertook a PhD with the Theoretical Physics Group at Curtin University, using supercomputers and quantum mechanics to study atomic and molecular collisions.
The primary focus of Liam’s PhD is the development and implementation of computational techniques for modelling the nuclear dynamics in collisions between electrons and molecular hydrogen.
The large sets of collisional data generated during this project will be utilised to model the plasmas in fusion-energy devices such as ITER.
