Dr Kristina Heidrich
My dream is to make a meaningful difference in the lives of all those who rely on our oceans, as well as help conserve the most valuable ecosystems on our planet.

Kristina has a strong interest in the fisheries, management and governance of large pelagic species in the Indian Ocean and around the world. The topic of her thesis research was “Below the surface: data-driven solutions for a deeper insight into global large pelagic fisheries.”

Furthermore, she is increasingly driven to understand the role that humans play in marine and terrestrial ecosystems and is passionate about ecosystem conservation, research, management, and monitoring.

Kristina now works as Environmental Research Scientist, where she oversees projects, conducts comprehensive data collection, management and spatio-temporal analyses and produces reports to facilitate effective environmental management and monitoring. In her current role she uses academic rigour to solve real-world problems in industry.
